Lynsbury History

Lynsbury is an ancient town on the banks of the river Ealu. A settlement has existed on the site since the Anglo Saxon era, although it wasn’t until the 11th Century that it became a successful market town. Lynsbury was known for its thriving wool trade right up until the late 19th Century, in recent years this has declined dramatically. Today the town sports a range of declining shops alongside a dilapidated town park.
